摘要:In this talk, we introduce a novel, high-speed, accurate geometric representation--natural vector for DNA sequences. It provides a rapid but unique representation of genome sequences. Unlike most existing methods, the natural vector representation does not need sequence alignment and any evolutionary model. It is much faster in handling whole or partial genomes than the current multiple alignment methods. It facilitates the global comparison of all DNA sequences which could not be achieved by any other existing methods. The natural vector method has been successfully applied on virus classification and the construction of virus genome space. This talk is based on the joint research work with Professor Stephen Yau and others. It is partially supported by the National Science Foundation.
