The team consists of two parts: teachers who have long worked in the Department of Mathematics at Tsinghua University and young faculty members introduced in recent years by the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center of Tsinghua University from prestigious foreign universities (such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Columbia University, etc.). Some team members hold doctoral degrees in mathematics, while others hold doctoral degrees in physics. The team includes several non-Chinese members. The team's research areas encompass both mathematics-oriented and physics-oriented aspects. The team's research directions include: integrable systems (Zhang Youjin, Liu Siqi, Lin Runliang), mathematical theory of superstrings (Zhou Jian, Zong Zhengyu), physical theory of superstrings (Song Wei, Xie Dan), general relativity (Yu Pin), and operator algebras and related fields (Liu Zhengwei).
