摘要Over the last few decades, intensive research has been done on developing efficient and practical iterative solvers for discretized PDEs. One useful mathematical technique, that has drawn a lot of attention recently, is a general framework called Auxiliary Space Preconditioning. This framework represents a large class of methods that transform a complicated system, by using auxiliary spaces, into a sequence of simpler systems and construct efficient preconditioners with efficient solvers for these simpler systems. In this talk, we will discuss recent development of this method for simulating simple and complex multiphase fluids. We will also introduce a new software library, FASP, designed and implemented for auxiliary space preconditioners. In particular, we will demonstrate some industrial applications of the FASP package for enhanced oil recovery techniques.
